Profile
Laura is a senior member of our family law team, assisting clients with matrimonial and de facto property settlements and resulting property transfers, parenting matters, and divorce applications. She is particularly passionate about complex property settlements and Court advocacy, and she regularly represents clients in the Federal Circuit and Family Court of Australia.
Laura obtained her Bachelor of Laws from the University of New England, and then moved to sunny Queensland shortly thereafter. She commenced her legal career by gaining experience at various firms in the coalfields and Rockhampton, by completing a Graduate Diploma of Legal Practice through the Queensland College of Law, and by joining the McKays Solicitors team in 2020. She is admitted both to the Queensland Supreme Court and the High Court of Australia.
Laura has a genuine interest in helping families through separation, and in her own time, she volunteers at the Mackay Regional Community Legal Centre. To further support our community, Laura joined the Board of the Mackay Children’s Contact Service in late 2023, which assists families to manage their parenting arrangements post separation.
When she is not working, Laura enjoys spending time with her family in Mackay, travelling, and working on artistic pursuits.
