McKays announces new director, Lloyd Stanger

It is with so much pride and excitement, that the Principals of McKays Solicitors announce the admission of a new director, leading commercial solicitor, Lloyd Stanger.

It has been 7 years since McKays admitted a new director, so this is a momentous occasion.

We first met Lloyd in 2010 as a university student. He studied law in Townsville and after receiving the highest mark of his cohort in one of his subjects, Lloyd won the McKays Solicitors’ Prize.

Lloyd joined us for work experience and quickly impressed us with his dedication, easy going nature and fun personality.  It wasn’t long before we knew he had a bright future ahead.  He was invited back several times during his university career to work with us, and then he eagerly accepted a graduate role at the completion of his studies.

Lloyd spent time in several teams in his early years, working under the watchful eyes of directors, Nicole Cullen, Mark McGrath, Andrew Coates and Suzanne Brown.

After rising quickly through the ranks, Lloyd began to stand out as a go-to in the office.  He proved himself to be a natural leader, who had an empathic and understanding manner, combined with patience and a generous approach to sharing his time with others.  This is when we knew that his leadership skills would make him an excellent director in the future.

Another very important skill that we witnessed over the years was Lloyd’s ability to build a rapport with pretty much everyone!

It’s also rare for Lloyd to miss an event.  Balls, dinners, galas, fundraisers...  You name it, Lloyd is there.  When it comes to representing the practice, Lloyd really does put in the hard yards.

Aside from his natural charisma, Lloyd has spent years developing his technical skills.  He is able to take on highly complex work, yet deliver information to clients in a simple and succinct way.  He will work around the clock to settle a big matter and he’s usually one of the last to leave of an evening.

Lloyd is now the leader of the McKays Commercial Property and Conveyancing team, responsible for supervising and training multiple employees.  He has stepped up to this role quickly and easily and has demonstrated a fair, thoughtful and measured approach to managing a key area of our business.

Lloyd has proven time and time again that he will make a wonderful business partner, leader and role model at McKays.  Lloyd is part of the fabric of the practice – he has demonstrated to us his loyalty, dedication and that he lives and breathes the firm.

We are incredibly excited to share this journey with him, and on behalf of all of the directors and staff, a huge congratulations Lloyd!

A special ceremony was held at our office this morning with staff to make the announcement.
