Suzanne is a Director and leading Commercial Solicitor at McKays Mackay office.

She is Mackay’s only Queensland Law Society Business Law Accredited Specialist and one of only 23 in Queensland. When Suzanne completed the course in 2014, she achieved the highest marks in the State and was honoured with a special award by the Chief Justice.

Suzanne was recently recognised as one of the 30 under 30 Best Lawyers in Australia, taking up two spots in the coveted list by winning both the Government and Energy and Resources categories. Suzanne was the first to win two of the twelve categories in the history of the awards.

Suzanne was also named next to the likes of Darren Lockyer and Bindi Irwin as one of the Courier Mail’s 20 under 40 Business Leaders in Queensland.

Suzanne is a former director of the Mackay Hospital and Health Board, which is responsible for the strategic oversight of a number of public hospitals and health services, including Mackay, Bowen, Clermont, Dysart, Middlemount, Proserpine, Moranbah, Glenden, Whitsunday and Sarina.

Suzanne has also previously sat as a director of North Queensland Bulk Ports, the leading port authority responsible for the ports of Mackay, Hay Point, Weipa and Abbot Point.

She currently sits on the board of the Resources Centre of Excellence, an organisation which provides world-class facilities for all things relating to resource development, with an underground mine simulated training and testing facility, emerging technology capabilities, quality training and conference facilities.

Suzanne is trusted by her diverse client base. Her experience and training enables her to be a one-stop-shop for her client’s commercial and business needs. Aside from private sector clients, Suzanne also acts as a key legal advisor to various local governments in the region.

Suzanne believes that her relationship with a client is not just to be a solicitor – but a partner. Suzanne aims to make the client’s life less stressful and maximise their chance of success.
